Sr. network application Engineer

 

Role Description

The primary role of network application engineer is a full time employee to develop internet based streaming media application in a project team. Responsibilities include:

 

·         Serve as a full-time technical design and implementation resource on internet streaming media application development project, such as network conference, IP video phone, IP based video monitoring system.

·         Engage in day-to-day design & development processes, contribute to crucial technical decisions

·         Work with a dedicated Project Manager to manage scope and estimate delivery schedules (including work efforts)

·         Serve as an individual contributor for key components of the project

·         Work with a leveraged (i.e., part-time) Technical Architect to define system requirements and application design

·         Communicate timely status of all deliverables and metrics

Description of Ideal Candidate

BS in Computer Science (or related field) is desired.  A candidate with enough relevant work experience may be considered as well.

 

·         Ability to work in a fast moving / changing environment

·         Excellent communication and people skills with both technical and non-technical personnel

·         1- 4 years of overall technical experience on C/C++ projects

·         1- 3 years of programming experience on Linux platform, windows platform.

·         Good understanding of OOP

·         1- 2 years of streaming media protocol development experience such as SIP, H323, H263, H264,

·         Development experience of network protocol.

·         Development experience of using Databases and Database tools

·         Understanding of Functional Requirements of his/her modules

·         Documentation Skills to the level of being able to document self-written code (technical and functional documentation)

·         Internet multimedia application/product development experience or C/C++ programming experience on embedded Linux system is highly preferred.

 

Other Requirements

 

·         Bi-lingual (Chinese/English)

·         Travel required (30% intermittent)
