JD:               Duties /Responsibilities

Work with a Senior Staff Certification Engineer to prepare lab hardware, systems and applications for system certification and to carry out testing of Veritas products. Tasks include the following:

• OS installations and revision/patch updates
• Configure and update various Servers and devices such Fibre Channel host bus adapters
• Installation and configuration of Fibre Channel disk and RAID storage subsystems
• Installations of various applications including storage management and clustering software
• Installation and configuration of Fibre Channel switches
• Work with other Engineers to help define requirements for specific system certification tests
• Execute test strategies and certification test specs
• Debug failures to determine root cause
• Coordinate incident tracking and resolution during certification testing

Experience and Qualifications
 
• Testing experience with the UNIX operating system
• A hands-on self-starter with good problem isolation, debugging and troubleshooting skills
• The ability to work on multiple projects, in different stages of completion at one time
• Knowledge of test processes and methodologies and the ability to apply them
• Must work well in a dynamic team oriented environment
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
• Experience in a Storage Networking test environment
• Experience in a software/hardware test environment
• Experience with VERITAS products is a plus.
 
Education:
 
BS EE/CS Preferred or equivalent work experience
