What is Toastmasters?
Founded in California in 1924, Toastmasters has become the world leader in helping people improve their public speaking and leadership skills. As of 2009, this nonprofit organization has nearly 250,000 members in more than 12,500 clubs across 106 countries.
 
Toastmasters stepped into mainland China and formed a “District 85” here in 1999. Today, this district has 78 clubs and over 1700 members nationwide.
 
What is Toastmasters Convention?
A Toastmasters convention is not just a party where people regularly gather together and have fun, but also a great opportunity to meet world-class elites in the field of public speaking and leadership, enjoy their workshops and take their experience home. Moreover, it is a big stage for Toastmasters members to show their talents or simply participate through various contests and showcases.



Toastmasters 秋季的演讲大赛将在深圳举行。很荣兴能成为义工，为本次大会出一份力。
春季那次是在北京搞的，太远了所以没去成。这回在自家门口，不去就太不像话了。

初步估计，届时将会有大约500人左右来参加大会，那会是一场精彩的大会。我们充满着期待......
作为大会CIO (信息员），我的任务主要是建立一个在互联网发布的平台，让大家可以在网络上查阅有关大会的进展情况。
因为大会是一次性的，所以就没有考虑建立一个网站，博客是我们最后定下来的载体，用博客作为信息传递的平台基本可以满足需求。
